The Basic Overnight Oats Recipe
The basic recipe for making overnight oats is really easy. All you need is some oats, liquid, and a bit of time for them to soak…
(Oats + Liquid) x 8 Hours = Overnight Oats
The key is to add just the right amount of oats to your choice of liquid (milk, water, etc) so that you get the perfect creamy consistency the next day. The magic ratio is…
- ½ cup or 40g oats
- ½ cup or 120ml liquid
- Flavourings (like spices, sweeteners, or preserves)
- Toppings (like fruit, nuts, or seeds)

How We Approach Our Recipes
We love to experiment with new overnight oats recipes and flavour combinations. Our ideas come from a range of sources – we like to find inspiration anywhere we can! Some of our favourite ways include…
- Seasonal produce – thinking about how we can incorporate seasonal fruit into our breakfast bowls, like apples and pears in autumn or fresh strawberries and nectarines in summer.
- Classic combos – applying classic flavour combinations to oats recipes, like Pina Colada or peaches and cream.
- Healthy alternatives – we love finding ways to put healthy spins on typically unhealthy treats, like our Carrot Cake or Blueberry Muffin oats.
The best oats recipes have the perfect blend of flavour, texture, and nutrition. They need to taste great, combine creamy oats with crunchy or juicy toppings, and be packed with vitamins and minerals too. Not every recipe will tick all three boxes, but the absolute best ones tend to.
